Details – specialties, skills etc.
Originally built in 1897, the First Presbyterian Church in Alton, Illinois has withstood the hardships of war, economic difficulties, tornados but it was a fire that severely damaged the original carved cross and other parts of the church. Fortunately, the church retained drawings of the original carvings, which Master Carver Ian Agrell used to recreate the wood carved shades for the organ case and to construct the huge cross carved in oak, which hangs suspended from the roof for all to see.
The Church is often on the City Church Tours and people always comment on the beautiful cross to this day.
