For a grand library in a 17th-century Grade II listed Georgian Hall, we collaborated with British joinery firm Artichoke to recreate the lavish ornamentation of the Strahov Monastery’s Philosophical Hall. Inspired by its Baroque splendor, we crafted over 120 hand-carved acanthus leaf ornaments, as well as intricate mouldings, swags, and other decorative elements.

Precision and Collaboration

Working from Artichoke’s drawings, templates, and photographs, we produced these custom carvings in-house, maintaining close communication and delivering consistent, high-quality work without the need for outsourcing. This streamlined approach helped Artichoke meet their delivery schedule with ease.

Effort and Timeliness

The project demanded over 2,000 hours of carving, completed within eight weeks, resulting in a library that stands as a modern masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship.
