Growing up in the village of Milverton in Somerset, England's "West Country," Ian Agrell was surrounded by a rich tradition of woodcarving, notably evident in the beautiful church architecture. The local church, like many others in the area, dates back to the thirteenth century, built upon the site of a former Saxon church. The intricate carvings adorning the pew ends, crafted around 1500, captivated Ian as a child and remain a source of inspiration
