Details – specialties, skills etc.
In 2019 we were contacted by museum conservator Carey Howlett (whom we’d worked with on the Hermitage Museum) to supply the woodcarving for an elaborate cabinet for the Flagler Museum in Florida. Some panels, the cornice and mouldings were missing but we were given some old photographs of the original piece. We worked with Designer Patrick Burke on the design and full-sized models to use for the carving. The central moulding of the cornice has gadrooning with attractive acanthus corners whilst the two outer sections are heavily decorated with festoons of fruit and ribbons in the classical fashion - with the outer right-angled corners wrapped with dolphins. The panels have a flamboyant central cartouche supported by heavily carved acanthus leaves and fruit.
